Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) babies are one of the main factors contributing to perinatal and neonatal deaths. The assessment of babies with LBW is seen from a body weight of less than 2500 grams regardless of the gestational period. The birth weight measurement is carried out 1 hour after the baby is born. The diagnosis in the Final Assignment Report is Comprehensive Midwifery Care for Newborn Babies at risk of LBW at PMB Setia, Pamekasan Regency. Mrs I's pregnancy visit on February 24 2024 with complaints of frequent urination. The care given to Mrs I to reduce these complaints was that the mother was advised to drink less at night. From the results of the Upper Arm Circumference (LILA) examination, it was 20.5 cm, so it was said that Mrs. I had Chronic Energy Deficiency (KEK), because the nutrition that Mrs. I consumed before and during pregnancy was constant. The care given to Mrs I was consuming one of the medical herbal therapies in the form of yellow pumpkin, green beans and peanut formula drink. Mrs. I's labor process was classified as a fast labor, Mrs. I have entered the second stage of labor. After the birth process is complete, there is a tear in the birth canal or a 2nd degree laceration so stitches are carried out to prevent bleeding. The care provided to babies aged 1 hour, 3 days and 7 days includes daily baby care and breastfeeding. Mrs. I's baby did not experience Low Birth Weight (LBW) because the medical herbal nutrition consumed by the mother during pregnancy also affected the fetus's weight, so the baby's weight was normal. The postpartum period was carried out in 2 visits, first on day 3 and on day 7. Postpartum on the 3rd day with complaints of pain in the laceration wound. The care given to Mrs I was to tell the mother to clean the genitalia area using boiled betel leaf water. On the 7th day of postpartum examination, the suture wound was still wet and the mother said she did not take medication regularly because she was worried that the uterus would dry out. The care given is to tell the mother that taking medication regularly does not make the uterus dry, and telling the mother to take the medication given regularly so that the stitches dry quickly. Midwifery care regarding family planning is provided to mothers and husbands through counseling, informed choice and informed consent, so that mothers choose birth control pills. From midwifery care, the mother's pregnancy is a physiological pregnancy. Mothers with Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) can give birth to normal weight babies because the nutrients consumed by the mother are absorbed more quickly by the baby. Childbirth with a torn birth canal can be resolved immediately without any other complications. On examination of the baby, it was found that the baby's weight had increased. During the postpartum examination, the mother stated that the pain in the stitching wound had resolved, so the condition of the mother and baby was normal. It is hoped that care can increase mothers' knowledge and experience regarding risk factors for LBW, so that they can reduce the incidence of LBW by consuming medical herbal therapy in the form of pumpkin, green beans and peanut formula drink
