Abstract

Serotinous pregnancy or post-term pregnancy is a pregnancy thatrequire treatment to expel the fetus. There are 2 alternative treatments The proposed drugs are misoprostol and oxytocin. The literature review shows the inconsistency of these two treatments in inducing labor. Researcher This study aims to analyze the effect of misoprostol and oxytocin on the duration of induction of labor in patients with serotinous pregnancies.

Causes that affect delivery with serotinus that occur in women with old age (> 35 years), have excess body weight, primiparous, or have a history of previous serotinous delivery. The age factor in women giving birth is at risk of 45.20% experiencing serotinous pregnancy. This is associated with the incomplete maturity of the reproductive organs in mothers aged <20 years and the decline in maternal organ function at>35 years of 15 mothers who were identified as having serotinous labor.

Research Applying and obtaining a description of the management of midwifery care in women giving birth with SEROTINUS was carried out on Mrs. “Y” GIP0000A000, 26 years pregnant, UK 42-43 weeks, single live intrauterine fetus, right back V head position, mother's condition is quite good, blood pressure 124 /84 mmHg, 82x/minute, body temperature 36.50 C, respiration 22x/minute.

According to the results of this study, pregnant women with more months of pregnancy can be handled optimally with cooperation between health workers. From the development notes, it can be seen that the mother gave birth (primigravida) with cases of pregnancy more months so that it does not cause prolonged labor. In providing midwifery care to pregnant women should be able to improve skills and good intellectual abilities regarding midwifery care for pregnant women to prevent the occurrence of preterm pregnancies that can cause maternal and infant mortality
