Avocado leaves (Persea americana Mill.) contain flavonoid compounds that have the ability as antioxidants. Antioxidants are compounds that have a molecular structure that can donate electrons to free radical molecules without being disturbed at all by their function and can break the chain reaction of free radicals. This study aims to determine the presence of antioxidant activity in the lotion preparation of avocado leaf ethanol extract (Persea americana Mill.) and to determine which formulation of avocado leaf extract lotion (Persea americana Mill.) has the best antioxidant activity using the DPPH (Diphenyl Picrylhyrazil) method.) And to find out whether there is an effect of variations in the hydrocarbon base on the lotion preparation of avocado leaf extract (Persea americana Mill.). Avocado leaves were extracted using percolation technique with 96% ethanol as solvent. The yield obtained from the percolation technique is 36.25%. Phytochemical analysis of avocado leaves contains alkaloids, flavonoids, polyphenols, saponins and tannins. Avocado leaf extract (Persea americana Mill.) can be formulated into lotion preparations and meets the requirements of the physical evaluation test is the IV formulation with an extract concentration of 5% cera alba base. The formulation of avocado leaf extract lotion which has a very strong antioxidant activity is FIV with an extract concentration of 5% cera alba base and an IC50 value of 28.56 ppm, which means that there is an influence of variations in the hydrocarbon base on the antioxidant activity of avocado leaf extract lotion (Persea americana Mill).
