GAMBARAN REMAJA PELAKU SEKSUAL PRA NIKAH DI SULAWESI UTARA

Abstract

Puberty is a transition from children to adults. At this time they are looking for identity and developing into adults. The problem is that there are teenagers who fall into risky sexual behavior. In North Sulawesi Province, according to the results of the 2019 SKAP, 5.7% of teenagers have had premarital sexual intercourse. The purpose of this research is to analyze adolescents or teenagers  who have  had sexual intercourse and the factors related to premarital sexual behavior of adolescents in North Sulawesi. This quantitative research is a latitude-divided design using secondary data from the 2019 KKBPK Accountability and Performance Survey Program  (SKAP) in North Sulawesi Province. The sample was 689 people. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate using chi square statistical test with a significance of 5%. The result is that the characteristics of adolescents who have had premarital sex based on several variables showed that educationally they are in higher education (4.6%), living in rural areas (3.2%), have ever had a girlfriend (5.5%), never hearing/seeing/reading information related to KRR (93.2 %), adolescents’ knowledge about women being able to get pregnant in just one intercourse they stated they could get pregnant (4.2 %). Educational factors and having had a girlfriend are related to premarital sex of adolescents in North Sulawesi Province. Meanwhile, the other variables are place of residence, have heard/see/read information related to KRR, knowledge about adolescent girls can get pregnant only in one unrelated relationship. Recommendations are needed communication, information and education in higher education adolescents who have girlfriends or not to avoid premarital sexuality, support from parents, educational institutions and community and religious leaders who are concerned about adolescent issues to equally work to prevent premarital sexual behavior in adolescents.
